The PE's Western-Franklin streetcar line was a branch of the Santa Monica Boulevard line. The line diverged from the Santa Monica Blvd line at Western Avenue, running north to Franklin. In the shot below we are looking west on Santa Monica Blvd at Western. A Western-Franklin shuttle car is just visible at the right.
The line ran north in Western Avenue to Franklin where it turned west. In the next photo we see a Western-Franklin shuttle car running north on Western Ave at Fernwood Avenue. The William Fox (later 20th Century Fox) studio is visible on the right side of the street.
In the shot below we're looking north on Western Avenue at Hollywood Boulevard.
In the shot below a westbound streetcar is approaching Tamarind Avenue on Franklin. The Chateau Elysee luxury apartment complex is hidden behind the trees at left.
The Chateau Elysee (photo below left) was developed in 1929 by the widow of movie mogul Thomas Ince. In the '60s the luxury apartment complex was known as Fifield Manor. Now it's the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre.

On the north side of Franklin at Tamarind is the Villa Carlotta apartments, shown below. In this shot from the '20s we can the tracks and overhead wires of the PE streetcar line.
The line ran down Franklin Avenue to Argyle Avenue where it turned left, and then ran around a very broad curve (still visible in the street there) onto Yucca Street, and then turned left to run down Vine Street to Hollywood Boulevard, where the line ended.
In the image below a Western-Franklin streetcar is about to turn left off Franklin onto Argyle. The 4-story brick building in the right background is now the Hollywood Hills Hotel.
In the shot below a Western-Franklin streetcar is pulling up to the terminal on Vine at Hollywood. The site of the Capitol Records building is behind the streetcar on the right side of the street.
